i guess i am critiquing the narrow specialization of some research based graduate schools. i think universities are especially exciting for just the reasons you outline, and that is what provides space for learning (and creating). I think the more specialized the program, the more this has to be constrained from a pragmatic standpoint, with the end result of being more of an expert (good), but also perhaps a little narrowed in thinking (bad).

		<description>I&#039;m probably simplifying your argument too much (although maybe you&#039;re making it too complicated?), but I do think universities encourage the kind of experimental experience that you&#039;re suggesting. They provide ample opportunities for research, studying abroad, internships, etc. No quality educational program can be reduced to the words on the syllabus (like the one you provide from Dartmouth). Students are going to be entering an environment that breeds the very creativity that you identify in Animal Collective&#039;s music. That&#039;s much of the draw of top schools: being surrounded by countless interesting, challenging, and (more simply) smart people.</description>

we probably can&#039;t teach it, but we can probably do a good job guiding/ nurturing it when already present. maybe in that way current entrepreneurial teaching is set up effectively.
